5 Ways to Grow Your Private Practice Online!
July 10, 2018
Every business owner wants to grow their business. The type of person who starts their own business is seldom the type of person who is okay with letting that business move forward at the same rate year after year. While there are many ways to grow your private practice, today we’ve put together a list of five ways to help grow your business online.
1. Have a Useful Web Site
Your website is your main presence online, and it really needs two qualities: look good and be functional. A good looking website that is hard to navigate or doesn’t have the information someone is looking for is nearly useless. On the other hand, an incredibly useful website that doesn’t look good might not engage the website visitor well enough to turn them into a customer.
2. Write a Blog
A good, quality blog like this one is really part of having a useful website. It’s a place to post news and informative articles, and the comments section can also be a great way to interact with customers and potential customers. As you start a new blog or continue working on an old one, make sure you remember that people don’t want to read ads all the time. Make sure that a large portion of what you’re posting is useful to the reader and not just trying to sell your product or service.
3. Use Social Media
Social media is the new “word-of-mouth” advertising. Having a strong presence on sites like Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and/or LinkedIn can be a great way to connect with people who aren’t spending time on your site. Again, you’ll want to make sure that you’re not just self-promoting. It’s a good idea to have about 80% of what you post be directed at interacting with people rather than at trying to sell them something. Another very important thing is to make sure you don’t stretch yourself too thin by trying to be active on too many social media sites. Oh, and when people ask questions or make comments on your page, answer them quickly!
4. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
We all know that if you want to find something online, you use a search engine like Google. What most of us don’t know is how to make sure we show up in the search results. The methods used to help you rank well are commonly called search engine optimization. The basics seem to be pretty clear: use keywords that you want to rank for strategically on your site, have real links to your site from other sites, and have a website that is relevant to what the searcher is looking for.
However, according to the #1 ranked company on TopSeos.com, “…SEO seems like it should be fairly simple; have a bunch of keywords and links and you’re good to go, right? Well, that’s about as simplistic as saying to summit Everest, all you have to do is put one foot in front of the other. So while it’s accurate, it lacks a lot of insight into the real process.” If you can afford it, using an internet marketing company can really help you get all of the pieces working together.
5. Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising
Our final way to grow your medical practice online is to use paid advertising. This can be ads on Google, Bing, Facebook, and others. Now, this one can get pretty complicated. If you’re feeling daring, Google has an entire page dedicated to their AdWords program at adwords.google.com. It might be a better idea, though, to have an internet marketing company set up your paid advertising account for you. They have the knowledge to get the most out of your money.
A good online presence and effective online marketing can be very helpful in growing your telemental health business in ways you may not have thought of. Like anything else worth doing, it isn’t necessarily easy. At WeCounsel, we want you to succeed. You help people, and we’re here to help you.
